Paritosh Shukla: Thanx alot Sanjay sir for introducing all of us in a GLORIOUS MANNER… Well! I would like to request one and all that u all r free to shoot any n every query that u hav in relation to the respective fields. Our endeavour would b to reply each n every query. Just a small request. In case, the reply is delayed (due to prior commitment), don’t feel bad. We would definitely come back to u. Still any query unanswered u r free to go n ask individually.
Bhavishya Bhaskar: Well said Sir
Ajay Gaude: Good Morning Sanjay sir. Thank u very much for introduction. Its proud feeling to work with u. I will be always there to be part of your such initiatives sir.🙏
Rishu Gaur: Good morning to u all sir. My question is how much time is needed for the preparation of such exams? Kya coaching join krna jruri h. Or self preparation hi krni h to kis trh se suruat ki ja skti hai?
Ajay Gaude: Well let me answer your questions. You have asked rite type of question to begin with. Congrats for taking first step to your preparation. With regards to how much time is needed? Any competitive exam needs preparation and its continuous process. How much time is needed will differ from person to person. But yes you need to start your preparations much earlier. Dont wait for last moment. Keep a goal and day by day try moving one-step ahead to achieve it. Let me tell one thing when you are preparing for any competitive exams certain things will be common in all exams like Common aptitude and mental ability questions.
Next question is about whether self-preparation can make u crack exam or u need coaching. If you ask me as far as my Civil service preparation and NET or any other preparation, It was my self study and self preparation and I didn’t take any coaching nor I joined any coaching classes. But yes the importance of coaching cannot be neglected. Coaching teaches you skills that you need to apply during your exams. Those who want to do self-study as well as coaching no harm. It will make u more confident and will help u. So the thought that you cant crack exams without coaching is not true all the time. It may vary from person to person. Let me tell you, you need certain skills and strategies while preparing and answering such exams. If you feel you have mastered them by your self-preparation then you don’t need them and if you feel you need to master them from someone else then definitely you need coaching. To conclude its all about your confidence, belief and your preparation that will give you end results.
Shailja Mishra: We are so proud to have such seniors …a very good morning to you sir. Sir…in which subject u have net JRF and how you prepared for it?
Sanjay Kumar Pandagale: The best answer. Everything covered regarding preparation by you Ajay.
Small interruption… You people pl carry on with discussion. Giving proper way to ask the question to someone. Eg. If I have to address my question to Bhavishya then I will type @ then group members list will appear. I will search his number and press it. Like 👇🏻
@Bhavishya Bhaskar
Rishu Gaur: Will u throw light on syllabus of these exams? I mean i have the syllabus with me but many times i feel difficulty that what to read first?
Ajay Gaude: @Rishu Gaur Well, any exams have certain boundaries and these boundaries are put in the form of Syllabus. The first thing you need to understand while you start preparing for your exam is Read the entire syllabus first and make analysis out of it in terms of its difficulty level and time requirement. When you do this you may feel that the first and second unit of syllabus are not interconnected and you feel last unit is connected with first and second then you can very well study then together. Certain tips while you go through your syllabus:
- Make a note book/journal where you will not down important things while you study an unit
- Never by heart any content of the syllabus or topic. Try to understand the concept and remember important formulas and year, specific details etc
- You can follow both concentric as well as topical approach while you study the content of the syllabus.
- Syllabus will look heavy if you see it as whole, try to look at it in terms of part. This will help you in gaining confidence and will enhance your drive towards completing further part of it
- At the end of the day always review what you studied and try to evaluate yourself
Ajay Gaude: @Shailja Mishra I did my NET JRF twice in Education.
Shailja Mishra: 👍🏻👍🏻 Thank you so much for answering sir.
Rishu Gaur: Ok sir I will try to follow the above-discussed points. Shall I continue my question?
Ajay Gaude: @Shailja Mishra Most welcome! @Rishu Gaur Yes Please carry on.
Sanjay Kumar Pandagale: @Rishu Gaur you can ask as much as questions you want to ask. No restrictions…
Rishu Gaur: Sir it is said that one should have command over the language. I m an English medium student but still face difficulty. And need your suggestion for this.
Ajay Gaude: @Rishu Gaur may I know exactly what difficulties you are talking about?
Rishu Gaur: I am talking about the difficulties that I face while writing an essay etc. Waha mujhe lagta hai ki shbdo ki kami ho rhi hai. Ya me jo likhna ya bolna chah rhi hu uske liye koi proper word mujhe nahi malum.
Ajay Gaude: @Rishu Gaur writing essay is a skill again. What you do is read certain essay written in Competitive exam books which you might be referring to or any middle class school essay book or in general essays. I am sure your problem will be solved. See the pattern in it. Always remember one line ‘any essay should or must have three components: 1. Introduction, 2. Main Body or content and 3. Conclusion.’
Rishu Gaur: Ok Sir. What motivates you for the preparation of civil services? In addition, what is the role of our educational qualification in these examinations?
Ajay Gaude: Good Question you asked. What motivates me? Well one has to motivate oneself. Motivation should come from within. Let me share with you my experience about this civil service journey. Teaching was my passion and after my M.Ed from RIE, I joined Govt B.Ed. college as Assistant Professor and was into teaching for almost 4 Years and then I answered Goa Civil Service Examination and qualified it. What actually motivated to me for going towards Civil services is to serve larger mass of the society. When I was small I used to visit govt office and see the way they treat people used to make me angry and I used to always feel there will be day when I will like to be at such position to help people and to not to harass them. This motivation was both intrinsic as well extrinsic.
Bhavishya Bhaskar: A long journey takes several small steps. Mine is still going on. In answer of that question- If some one have potential, he or she can easily crack any exam by self-preparation. Many toppers of UPSC prepared by themselves.
Rishu Gaur: Well its true sir and really you people inspired us a lot. Yes it is true sir but while self study many question came into the mind, whether to read this or not etc.
Ajay Gaude: @Rishu Gaur your question regarding educational qualifications, It has role to play. It adds to your knowledge
Rishu Gaur: Sir nowadays people around me preparing for entrance exams for M. Sc. etc. Therefore, I want to know that does it effect in civil services.
Nitika Chaudhary: @Ajay what subject you had taken for civil service?
Rishu Gaur: Yes, I too want to know about the optional subject you have taken. What things do we keep in my mind while selecting the optional subject?
Bhavishya Bhaskar: Mine was Political Science and Military science. Now pattern have changed. New Syllabus include only General Studies paper which have following topics.
- History,
- Geography,
- Polity,
- Art & Culture of India,
- Environmental issues,
- Social Topics, Economics,
- Basic Science & Technology,
- National & International Affairs,
- Current Affairs,
- Civil Services Ethics.
Bhavishya Bhaskar: For preparation of Civil Services, first you need to know following things-
- Pattern of Examination
- Syllabus of Examination.
Pattern or plan of examination give you clear idea of exam e.g. whether it’s 1stage, 2stage or 3-stage exam.
1 stage- prelims/interview only
2stage – prelims + interview
3 stage – prelims + mains /physical test + interview
Now in MPPSC, there is no optional subject now but I have also gone till mains in UPSC in which I had opted Political Science.
Rishu Gaur: The books you prefered for MPPSC, will you tell me about that sir?
Bhavishya Bhaskar: Pattern of exam also inform us which stage have objective type questions or minus marking and which stage there would be subjective type questions. So that we can prepare likewise e.g. In UPSC and MPPSC both marks of prelims are not added to final score. It’s just qualifying round, mains roughly have max marks 1800, and interview have max marks 250-300. Final score is sum of both. From this it’s clear that in any civil services exam MAINS is most important step it include 6-10 papers each of 250-300 marks.
Rishu Gaur: Ok I dont know about this. Thank you sir for the suggestions and information.
Shailesh Gaikwad: Can anyone help me for IIT JAM…?
Nitika Chaudhary: In UPSC now only one optional subject has to be selected.
Sanjay Kumar Pandagale: Aaj kafi achhi baate hui samuh me. Ajay aur Bhavishya ne bahut hi achche jawab diye. Aaj Paritosh aur Raju shayad busy the. Unse koi jawab prapt nahi hua. Kal denge vo log shayad. Yah ek aisa vishay tha jis par anya sadasy, jinhone competitive exams ki tayari ki hai, vo bhi jawab de sakte the. Charo ko unki uplabdhi k karan karyabhar saupa gaya tha. Par anya log chahe to apna anubhav share kar sakte hai. 😊😊😊
Rishu Gaur: Aj ka discussion bahut hi acha rha. Mere questions k answer k sath ek direction, motivation mila. Iske liye ap sbhi ko dhnywad. Visheshkar Sanjay sir ko jinhone ye discussion krawaya😊 Ajay sir and Bhavisya sir thank u once again
Sanjay Kumar Pandagale: @Rishu Gaur aap ne wakai bahut achche sawal puche. Apke sawalo se mera bhi bahot fayda hua. Thanks to you also.
Sonali Singhal: 😊
Sanjay Kumar Pandagale: Sonali … I will update everything related to today’s discussion on blog and post the link in the group. You get to know everything. 👍🏻
Sonali Singhal: Thnk u so much sir 😊
Rishu Gaur: Sawal, jinke jawab itne sahi dhang se mile. Ummid karti hu kl aur prshno k sath aur jyada margdarshan hasil kar saku.
Sonali Singhal: Well Rishu has also farwarded me the chat. I’ll be grateful to b a part.
Sanjay Kumar Pandagale: Sawal puchna bhi ek kala hai. Yah sab me nahi hoti. @Rishu Gaur
Rishu Gaur: 😊 ji sir
Paritosh Shukla: Sir actually, I was reading all the posts. The questions asked were from the field of Mr Ajay and Bhavishya. So didn’t wanted to interrupt. I am always there for RIE.
Sanjay Kumar Pandagale: @Paritosh Shukla you are right. The questions were related to Ajay and Bhavishya’s field. However, I would also like to know your way of preparation for CDSE. Most of the members may be knowing about CDSE but not all. So throw light on CDSE and how to prepare for the same? Few questions may generate from your explanation. It will be helpful for members as well as peoples related to them. 👍🏻
Sanjay Sartape: Good Morning 💐💐💐
Ajay Gaude: Good Morning. @Rishu Gaur u can ask any number of questions. Yesterday the type of questions were asked were really in right direction.
Sonali Singhal: Gd mrng everyone. Yes sir … CDSE …most of the youth is crazy for defence xams … also I’ve been trying fr it … and we’ve our upcoming CDSE on 23rd october…
Ajay Gaude: Yesterday Evening remained little busy. You can continue asking your questions today.
Rishu Gaur: People around me preparing for entrance for MSc. Yesterday I talked about the same. Offcousre our educational qualifications play important role in our knowledge construction. Again, I repeat my question. What is the role of educational qualifications in civil services? I mean if one with graduation cracks the exam and other with more like MSc etc. Will any special priority is given to second one?
Ajay Gaude: @Rishu Gaur As far as qualification is concerned there is no rule of priority as such but yes, when you will be posted in different departments of civil services, your area and experience may be taken into account.
Rishu Gaur: OK sir
Paritosh Shukla: There is one more entry that’s NCC entry in CDSE. It is for all those NCC cadets who got minimum A grading in there C certificate exam. They don’t hav to clear the exam. They are directly eligible for SSB.
Bhavishya Bhaskar: You need to qualify both exams. Their marks are not added to your total marks.
Rishu Gaur: In MPPSC also?
Bhavishya Bhaskar: Essential qualification for any Civil service (state or union), Graduate in any Subject
Bhavishya Bhaskar: No in MPPSC, marks of Hindi are added.
Rishu Gaur: OK sir
Sonali Singhal: Yes sir we were notified about that NCC entry scheme. We were not eligible the last time.
Rishu Gaur: For MPPSC will you tell me about the books and references you have taken for prelims and about your strategy for mains.
Paritosh Shukla: You need to complete your graduation before applying for NCC entry.
Bhavishya Bhaskar: Actually your PG degree if it is in Humanities it will greatly help you in preparation of Civil Services but Science or other PG degree now are not of much help because optional subject are either have been removed or there is single optional subject so weightage is on GS paper.
Sonali Singhal: Ok sir. However, the toughest strike is SSB. What about that sir?
Ajay Gaude: PG in science subject also has equal importance as compared to Humanities. Both has its own importance and cannot be neglected. I will say any subject will have its interrelated benefits.
Bhavishya Bhaskar: For prelims, there are many books, which are suitable, but each have some errors.
- Tata McGraw Hills (हिंदी english दोनों में)
Rishu Gaur: OK sir thanks for this. Again, a question arises how you know that there is error in those books.
Paritosh Shukla: Well SSB is real tough one. Problem is the uncertainty over there.
Ajay Gaude: See one thing you always remember whatever u study or whatever u read it will always help u. It may be Humanities or Science. Further, have habit of reading newspapers.
Sonali Singhal: Yes, that’s what. Then what are the things we can keep in mind?
Rishu Gaur: Preference is given to “the Hindu” by most of aspirant. Will u tell me which section is important and will be helpful for us?
Ajay Gaude: Day today happening and specifically the international relationships. Read about recent policies, administrative reforms.
Rishu Gaur: Ok
Paritosh Shukla: For they look your personality. What you are really made of. Either u r born with that personality or u transform into one. They r looking for few personality traits in u.
Bhavishya Bhaskar: Sir with due respect I beg to disagree on this point in new exam pattern the stress is more on Humanities subject. I am also from science background so I can easily assess the change.
Ajay Gaude: @Sonali Singhal r u talking about things during interview?
Sonali Singhal: Ooh yes sir.
Bhavishya Bhaskar: Main type of error in such type of books is the regarding various facts. Therefore, best way is to check on public portal of govt for confirmation. These two sites have link to every govt dept sites- www.india.gov.in, www.mp.gov.in. And another way of findings error is to have all popular books of GS if they differ on one point it means that one or both have wrong info.
Paritosh Shukla: Sonali I will explain u in detail. Our conversation might be disturbing the other exchange on knowledge. All steps will b made AVAILABLE.
Rishu Gaur: Ohh! Samajh gayi 🙂 the last line says what exactly I want to listen 😊 it means PG is our interest we do or not.
Ajay Gaude: @Sonali Singhal I will share my experience of civil services interview with u all sometime later which went for around 35-40 mins.
Bhavishya Bhaskar: What matters in Civil Services Exam is Knowledge not degree. The process is so intense that you study so much you can easily score good percentage in degrees of 2-3 subject. I myself never studied formally after BSc BEd. Knowledge is more important than Degree.
Rishu Gaur: Agree with your words
Ajay Gaude: To take the thought further application of knowledge is more important.
Bhavishya Bhaskar: Best book about History of India after Independence
Sandhya Patel: Sir wo minimum time kya hai jisme M.P.PSC nikala ja sakta hai
Bhavishya Bhaskar:
Sandhya Patel: Okk. Thanks.
Bhavishya Bhaskar:
Sandhya Patel: Agar tayari bilkul na ho?
Sandhya Patel: Ok sir
Ajay Gaude: Very well said👍
Bhavishya Bhaskar:
www.upsc.gov.in
www.mppsc.nic.in
Upender Varma: bilkul sahi bhavishya sir
Paritosh Shukla: http://www.mapsofindia.com/education/how-to-prepare/ssb.html. Well this website has covered it very well. Although anyone whom is about to face a SSB can call me on my present number and a first hand guidance would b provided. As far as coaching is concerned, It is a UPSC exam covering basics. So if u r preparing for any other exam u can appear in this too with the same degree of preparation. (Honestly- I cleared because I was teaching tuition to class 8th-10th)
For interview, I would suggest u must go for coaching before your first attempt. Normally people think to give a try in first attempt and than go for coaching. First attempt is the best attempt. As u considered RAW. There after u r veteran. Who knows what SSB is? However, a word of caution, select a coaching which TRANSFORMS UR PERSONALITY FOR LIFE. AND NOT THE ONE WHICH TEMPORARILY CHANGES U TO MATCH SSB REQUIREMENTS.
Sonali Singhal: Golden words sir…I agree… @ paritosh sir. @ajay sir … sure sir …we’ll b grateful…
Rishu Gaur: 😊 thnks for the information shared by u all.
Ajay Gaude: You all are most welcome. @Sonam Khatarkar @Rishu Gaur
Raju Borkar: Well wonderful discussion is going on. Expecting questions from other participants also.
Deepti Kavthekar: Informative discussion n important questions raised by participating members’ 😊😊😊
Sanjay Kumar Pandagale: Hats off to Ajay, Bhavishya and Paritosh… Two days they worked hard and proved that they deserve for the posts they are holding.
Thank u Sanjay sir for giving us the opportunity to interact with future civil service officers. @Rishu Gaur @Sonali Singhal keep the same habit of asking questions. Your questions were good. Best of luck n may ur all wishes come true.
Sonali Singhal: Yea seriously …thnk u vry much sanjay sir for providing this wonderful platform and thnk u ajay sir 😊
Rishu Gaur: 😊😊
Anju Saxena: @ Ajay sir for UPSC CSE ‘s current affairs which source is better like PIB, EPW ,THE Hindu or is it sufficient to read pratiyogita Darpan only.
Raju Borkar: Frontline, Chronicle, The most IMP Yojna, Kurukshetra
Upender Varma: AIR News n following discussions at 9 pm everyday
